About Me

I’m glad you’re interested in knowing a little bit more about me! I am currently a Senior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. I will graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Manufacturing Engineering in May 2018.

After my recent internship experience in steel fabrication and project management, I am interested in pursuing a career in construction. I have many skills that could be an asset to your company:

  • Internship experience in fabrication and manufacturing. This past summer I worked at Cianbro Fabrication and Coatings, a steel fabrication shop in Georgetown, MA. I had the opportunity to spend many weeks working out on the shop floor—painting steel for the Longfellow bridge, working to layout and weld structural beams, and learning from the shop superintendent about the workflow of the fabrication facility. A few years ago I also interned at Silverside Detectors, a start-up dedicated to national security. I worked side-by-side with the company’s manufacturing engineer to develop an assembly line process, refine assembly tolerances, and build Silverside’s first completely operational nuclear detectors. Through these experiences, I’ve had the opportunity to gain a wide range of knowledge about consistent, repeatable manufacturing processes, as well as strategies and procedures for custom fabrication work.
  • Experience in marketing and entrepreneurship. My Junior-year Interdisciplinary Qualifying Project revolved around conducting market research for a small South African company. During an 8-week trip to Cape Town, South Africa, my team and I gathered insights from market professionals and consumers to understand the factors that influence consumer purchases. I learned how to determine target markets and evaluate consumer demand. While entrepreneurship skills are not often associated with engineering, I believe that understanding the market and consumer base of a product helps an engineer create more informed solutions.
  • Hands-on skills. I am skilled at working with my hands and extremely adept at using power tools and working in machine shops. I am a certified welder for MIG welding on bridges (under D1.5). I also have experience with SolidWorks, CNC milling, and CAM software. I am exceedingly creative and artistic, have excellent writing and editing skills, and excel at time management and organization.

Thank you for your consideration! Please take a few minutes to browse my online portfolio, and please contact me if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful day!
